Ranger and Stephanie
Ranger is Stephanie's bad boy, even though she knows more about Ranger than many people he is still a mystery to her. On many occassions Ranger has told her that he is not interested in marriage, at all, so it isn't an option. His attractiveness and protective nature for Stephanie keeps her intrigued in him. He's admitted to loving her, although in more of a caring way rather than loving her so much he'd break out of his non-commital ways. The relationship has been taken to the sexual level as the two share kisses and have shared one another's bed. Although, most of the time Ranger is kept at arm's length even when she is sleeping beside him when she has to live in his apartment. He does more for Stephanie, I'm sure, than he would for any of the other women he may have in his life but she has yet to break him into committing at all so she keeps running back to Joe.

The fact that Joe loves Stephanie is clear, and it is also known that he would be happy to marry her. Although, marrying Joe would be easy, and Stephanie seems to never want to take the easy route. She mentions that she has to hide things from Joe so he doesn't "go Italian" and swing his arms around while he scolds her. This nature of hiding things from Joe keeps their relationship from being one where they can sit down and say "I believe living with you everyday would be great." Joe's hatred for Stephanie's career and constant trouble keeps him on edge a lot of the time and for this fact alone marriage won't work out...for now.
